The Academic English program is a rigorous and intensive program designed to prepare students for entry to university study. The program will help you progress to your academic degrees with the necessary study skills and English language proficiency. You will develop skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, TOEFL preparation, and academic study skills.

Program structure:

small classes
highly trained and experienced instructors
Structured use of time outside the classroom
23 lessons per week of course work covering the core skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking
choice of electives

Course length
Each term is 10-11 weeks
4 terms/year

Class hours
23 lessons per week of class work which includes 12 to 15 hours of core language skills development, 6 to 9 hours of electives and at least 2 hours per week in the Conversant Program.

In addition, students are required to engage in at least 20 hours of directed study outside the classroom in research projects, group projects, learning center activities and daily preparation for classes.
