All teaching for this course takes place within the University term dates.

English language entry requirement A minimum of IELTS 3.0 (with 3.0 in writing) or equivalent score in a comparable test.
Students with below IELTS 3.0 (with 3.0 in writing) should contact INTO Admissions for details of beginner level courses available at other INTO Centres
Age requirement 17 years and above
Price for tuition Until September 2010 £3,200 per term. 
From September 2010 £3,500 per term
Tuition fees include:
  • up to 21 contact hours per week of university-style learning comprising lectures, classes (maximum class size 16 students)
  • tutorials and directed self-study
  • welfare guidance
  • further study counselling
  • access to the internet and to online resources
Tuition fees do not include:
  • text books - available from the Centre for an additional charge in the region of £130 per academic course
  • excursions, visits and INTO social events

This course helps you improve your level of academic English for entry to a postgraduate degree programme or an INTO Graduate Diploma. You can enrol on the course at the beginning of each term and study for a minimum of one academic term.

Provided you meet the academic entry requirements, successful completion of English for Postgraduate Study ensures:

  • Direct entry to a postgraduate degree programme at Newcastle University or other UK universities.
  • Progression to INTO academic programmes, including the Graduate Diploma.
  • Progression to other INTO English language courses.
